Shipping & Receiving Clerk
KG Power Systems is the Master Distributor for Gardner Denver Air Compressors and related equipment and services. We also have extensive experience in the electric motor, industrial control, and fan and pump markets as well. We design and install turnkey systems for our customers to ensure reliability and profitability. KG Power Systems is located in Hauppauge, NY.
Job Description:
Shipping and receiving:
Typical duties: receives and unloads freight both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items and serial numbers received against purchase orders and packing lists; wraps, packages, and ships supplies; delivers and retrieves supplies to and from work or storage areas; tags and issues supplies; stocks shelves and rotates inventory; may receive, store, and ship flammable, explosive or caustic and hazardous material; may maintain equipment and vehicles.
Inventory maintenance and clerical/warehouse:
Typical duties: participates in physical inventories of warehouse and/or supply yard; maintains inventory records by adding or deleting supplies as they are shipped or received; operates a personal computer to access, enter, and correct information; answers phones and provides information using customer service skills; maintains compressor and dryer inventory on computer; may prepare damage claims for supervisor's review and signature; stage and sort scrap metals for recycling, dispose of rubbish.
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess clean driver’s license with no major traffic violations, suspensions or DUI’s in previous 5 years.
- Some knowledge of basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Experience: handling, storing, and shipping materials or supplies; operating material handling equipment; accessing information on a computer; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Willingness to: be trained on the operation of power and/or hand tools; greet individuals, answer phones, and provide information to customers; bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; stand and walk continuously throughout an 8 hour shift; work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment.

Compressed Air Field Service Technician
Job Description:
The Compressed Air Field Service Technician serves customers by installing, trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have the necessary skills to navigate through the operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.

Skills:
1. Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
2. Provides technical assistance on equipment start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed air systems. Including “hands-on” work to assure equipment operates to customer’s requirements.
3. Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
4. Serves as technical support for customers and Customer Service Managers.
5. Documents service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets
6. Increases customer’s awareness of how Gardner Denver products, services and solutions; such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
7. Maintains rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements.
8. Ensures proper operation of compressed air equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and 47 point inspections on a wide variety of compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers and additional compressed air components.
9. Works with Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations and repairs.
10. Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment.
11. Daily travel to customer sites, occasional overtime, and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet customers’ needs.
Qualifications:
1. A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of trouble shooting industrial /commercial mechanical systems.
2. Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
3. Candidates must have their own set of standard tools.
4. Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in previous 5 years.
5. EPA Certification Preferred (Refrigeration experience/certification a plus).
6. This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
7. This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.

Pump & Motor Mechanic
Overview: We are seeking an experienced field and shop mechanic with a great attitude.
KG Power Systems is a well known family business that has been in operation for over 60 years. We specialize in electric motor, pump and air compressor repairs. We are currently seeking a field and shop mechanic that can become part of our growing team. Our office is based in Hauppauge, New York. Job Description:
1. Perform routine preventative maintenance and repair on air compressors, electric motors, pumps, fans, engines, generators, and refrigeration.
2. Perform overhauls on equipment in shop and field
3. Perform extensive troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair estimates
4. Perform installations of equipment which require rigging, plumbing, and wiring
5. Provide neat documentation of all service work performed for billing and service history
Job Requirements:
1. Possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
2. Minimum of 2+ years experience in mechanical repair
3. Ability to work on single and three phase AC electrical systems
4. A strong willingness to learn and grow within the profession
5. Excellent communication and organizational skills
6. Ability to work with limited supervision and make decisions on the job site
7. Heavy lifting required
